Welcome to the HICSS research community. HICSS – The Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences – has been known worldwide as one of the longest standing scientific communities in the information systems and technology fields. Since 1968, it has become a respected destination that attracts high-caliber scholars and professionals in academia, industry and government agencies around the world to discuss their cutting-edge research. With a highly interactive working environment, HICSS offers a unique platform for participants to share and exchange perspectives and ideas.
Since March 2020, COVID-19 has forced conferences to either go online as the last-minute alternate solution or postpone to another year. HICSS is not just about publishing innovative and high-quality research work. It is also about the venue atmosphere and serendipitous connections that nurture novel ideas and foster fortuitous interdisciplinary interactions.
With more than a thousand HICSS participants coming from all over the world, our challenges are to simulate any virtual setting that can come close to the HICSS atmosphere. And until we meet again in person, we are proposing a limited online version of HICSS-54.
HICSS-54 Proceedings
HICSS Research Papers will be published as usual in ScholarSpace on January 4, 2021 with open access. Target acceptance rate is maintained at 47%.
HICSS-54 Conference Registration and Conference Platform
Conference registration is required for all participants who wish to access HICSS-54 Virtual Conference Platform during the week of January 4-9, 2021. HICSS, however, offers complimentary access to contents and live events. In other words, registration fee will not be charged.
HICSS-54 Program
Through our conference platform, HICSS-54 Virtual Conference offers both asynchronous and synchronous components.
- On-demand Paper Presentations: For the asynchronous component, in addition to conference papers, registered participants will have access to pre-recorded video presentations and/or presentation slides of some papers. These video presentations and presentation slides will only be available during the conference on HICSS-54 Virtual Conference Platform and will not be published for the general public.
- Minitrack Meetings: The synchronous component includes minitrack meetings scheduled and hosted by chairs of some minitracks.
- Best Paper Award: Best Paper Award Ceremony will take place on Friday January 8, 2021 at 2pm EST.
