Welcome to the HICSS research community. HICSS – The Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences – has been known worldwide as one of the longest standing scientific communities in the information systems and technology fields. Since 1968, it has become a respected destination that attracts high-caliber scholars and professionals in academia, industry and government agencies around the world to discuss their cutting-edge research. With a highly interactive working environment, HICSS offers a unique platform for participants to share and exchange perspectives and ideas.
With much disappointment, we are moving the HICCSS-55 conference to a virtual mode for another year. We missed you in 2021 and had been working diligently to find creative ways to host you in Maui in 2022. We have now realized that with the many pandemic-induced uncertainties, we would not be able to offer the research interaction that HICSS is known for.
On a positive note, HICSS-55 beat another record with 1,553 paper submissions. At the time of this announcement, the combined number of downloads of HICSS papers for the last four proceedings on HICSS ScholarSpace and AIS eLibrary is more than 2.31 million. In 2020, Microsoft Academic Conference Analytics ranks HICSS as the #1 conference in business (out of 442), and #31 Top Conferences in all topics (out of 1,804 conferences). With another impressive set of cutting-edge research papers, we expect the 2022 Proceedings to hit another milestone of research impact.
The virtual version of HICSS-55 will be similar to the one we had this year with the ability for registered participants to download papers and view video presentations on demand. Information on online sessions will be posted on our conference website.
HICSS-55 Proceedings
HICSS Research Papers will be published as usual in ScholarSpace with open access. Target acceptance rate is maintained at 47%.
HICSS-55 Conference Registration and Conference Platform
Conference registration is required for all participants who wish to access HICSS-55 Virtual Conference Platform during the week of January 3-7, 2022. HICSS, however, offers complimentary access to contents and live events. In other words, registration fee will not be charged.
HICSS-55 Program
Through our conference platform, HICSS-55 Virtual Conference offers both asynchronous and synchronous components.
- On-demand Paper Presentations: For the asynchronous component, in addition to conference papers, registered participants will have access to pre-recorded video presentations and/or presentation slides of some papers. These video presentations and presentation slides will only be available during the conference on HICSS-55 Virtual Conference Platform and will not be published for the general public.
- Minitrack Meetings, Symposia, Workshops, and Tutorials: The synchronous component includes minitrack meetings, symposia, workshops, and tutorials. During the registration process, we would appreciate it very much if you could indicate the symposia, workshops, and tutorials (SWTs) that you intend to join. SWT SELECTION can be updated anytime.
- Best Paper Award: Best Paper Award Ceremony will take place on Friday January 7, 2022 at 2pm EST.
